Inkcarceration Festival Confirms Bad Omens Were Never Fined

A viral rumour claiming that Bad Omens were fined $10,000 for performing past curfew at Inkarceration Festival has officially been shut down by the festival itself.

The speculation began after frontman Noah Sebastian jokingly told the crowd they were about to play a “$10,000 song” before launching into the band’s closing track, “Dethrone.” With the festival operating under a strict midnight noise curfew, many fans assumed the comment meant the band had accepted a hefty fine in order to finish their set.

The story quickly spread across social media, with countless posts and videos repeating the claim as fact.

However, Inkarceration Festival has now clarified that no fine was ever issued.

Replying to one viral post, the festival wrote:

“Nobody was fined ya’ll. This was a fun rebellious joke from a badass performer that got taken WAY too literally. All is well AND you got an epic finale from a headliner.”

The response puts an end to days of speculation and confirms that Noah’s comment was simply part of the moment rather than an admission that the band had broken festival rules.

Despite the misunderstanding, the performance itself has become one of the weekend’s biggest talking points. Fan-filmed footage of Noah Sebastian storming through “Dethrone” while wielding a sword has racked up hundreds of thousands of views across TikTok and Instagram, with many calling it one of the standout moments of this year’s festival.

Held at The Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio, Inkarceration has become one of North America’s premier rock and metal festivals, combining heavy music with the iconic backdrop of the historic former prison. This year’s lineup featured headliners Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and Bad Omens, alongside artists including Jinjer, Bilmuri, Story of the Year, Landmvrks, Set It Off, Silent Planet and many more.

So while Bad Omens certainly delivered one of the most memorable finales of the weekend, fans can officially put one rumour to rest—they didn’t pay a $10,000 fine to do it.
