Sleep Token’s ‘Take Me Back To Eden’ Certified Platinum

Sleep Token have reached another major milestone after their 2023 album Take Me Back To Eden was officially certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The certification recognises more than one million equivalent album units in the United States and arrives just over three years after the record was released through Spinefarm Records on May 19, 2023.

The album has also accumulated more than two billion streams globally, while its breakthrough single “The Summoning” has now been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Take Me Back To Eden served as the final chapter in the trilogy that began with 2019’s Sundowning and continued with 2021’s This Place Will Become Your Tomb.

Across its 12 tracks, the record brought together the many sides of Sleep Token’s sound, moving between crushing metal, atmospheric electronics, pop, R&B and piano-led ballads. Songs including “Chokehold,” “Granite,” “The Summoning,” “Ascensionism” and the title track helped introduce the band to a considerably wider audience.

The Platinum award also represents a landmark achievement for Spinefarm, with Take Me Back To Eden becoming the first album in the label’s history to receive the certification.

Since the album’s release, Sleep Token’s rise has continued at remarkable speed. The band have sold out consecutive North American tours and progressed from mysterious cult act to major arena headliners.

Take Me Back To Eden was officially released on May 19, 2023, and completed the album trilogy Sleep Token began four years earlier with Sundowning.

The record’s Platinum status confirms just how significant that era became—not only for Sleep Token, but for modern heavy music as a whole.
