According to a new report from TMZ, Slipknot turntablist and founding-era member Sid Wilson has reportedly been informed that he is no longer part of the band.
The report cites a source with direct knowledge of the situation, claiming Wilson was notified on Friday that his time with Slipknot had come to an end. At the time of writing, no reason for the reported departure has been provided, and neither Slipknot nor Sid Wilson has publicly commented on the claims.
Because of that, the report remains unconfirmed until either the band or Wilson issues an official statement.
If confirmed, Wilson’s exit would mark another significant lineup change for Slipknot in recent years. The band’s roster has evolved considerably over the past decade, with several long-serving members departing while new musicians have stepped in to continue the group’s live and studio work.
Wilson has been a defining part of Slipknot since the band’s early days in the late 1990s, bringing his unmistakable turntablism, samples and chaotic stage presence to every studio album. Behind the mask as member #0, he has become one of the most recognisable figures in the band’s history.
For many fans, it’s difficult to imagine Slipknot without Sid Wilson’s energy on stage. If the report proves to be accurate, it would undoubtedly mark the end of an era for one of metal’s most influential bands.
For now, though, fans will have to wait for an official response.
