Howard Jones and Adam Dutkiewicz’s Burn Eternal will release their self-titled debut album on 26 February 2027, and first single ‘Wounds I’ve Made’ is out now.

Burn Eternal, the new band reuniting former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones with guitarist and producer Adam Dutkiewicz, have announced their debut album.

The self-titled record arrives on 26 February 2027 via Metal Blade, and the pair have shared a lyric video for first single ‘Wounds I’ve Made’.

A Song Six Years in the Making

Jones said the track is about “acknowledging mistakes and regrets of the past” while moving forward, adding: “Sometimes change hurts, but it’s necessary for self-growth.”

Dutkiewicz revealed it was one of the first songs he wrote for the project, “six years ago!”

The Album

The nine-track record features ‘Wounds I’ve Made’, ‘No Escape’, ‘Blackheart’, ‘To Bear the Cross’, ‘Scared of Shadows’, ‘Bitter Pill’, ‘Learning to Let Go’, ‘Born Again’ and ‘Fell Silent’.

The artwork is by Travis Smith, and several vinyl variants will be available worldwide. Pre-orders are open here.

From Killswitch to Burn Eternal

Jones fronted Killswitch Engage between 2002 and 2012, an era that produced The End of Heartache, which earned the band their first Grammy nomination, and 2006’s platinum-selling As Daylight Dies, still the band’s best-selling album.

Since then, Jones has fronted Devil You Know, Light The Torch and SION, while Dutkiewicz has remained in Killswitch and produced records for the likes of Underoath and Parkway Drive.

How It Started

According to the band, Burn Eternal began over dinner in the UK, when Killswitch were supporting Iron Maiden and Jones happened to be in the country performing. Jones asked Dutkiewicz if he had any riffs to sing over.

There was no label lined up and no deadline. Jones called it “a longstanding itch, you finally got to scratch”, while Dutkiewicz said Jones was “like an open book” during the writing.

The As Daylight Dies duo are back together. Is this the metalcore reunion you’ve been waiting for, or…?
